GISCOM Office August 2007
GISCOM office is now finished. After a lot of work, we now have an office and are ready for business. We took over a "mezzanine floor" office, which is right above a diamond store. It was supposed to be a spa, so we have a big bathroom with whirlpool jets in the bathtub and a sunken floor. We spent a month getting carpet, tiles, partitions and the door installed. There was no front door, so we had to have a contractor break through the wall and install one. It got painted a few times, but still ended up looking pretty strange. We still have problems -- the floor is very thin. We often joke that we can go "ice fishing" for jewlry from our office, if our business doesn't work out. I get an "earthquake" every morning at 10AM when the store downstairs opens up its security door. There are lots of other stores and resturants around us, and it is a very popular place in Brunei, so we just say "above Twinkle Jewlery", and everybody knows where it is.
